A Cute Pumpkin Choux Pastry Special Workshop:

Workshop Content:

– Learn basics of choux au craquelin, creating two colours of pastries
– how to create mini pumpkin choux pastry
– how to decorate plain orange choux to become a Jack O’Lantern
– how to decorate/assemble plain brown choux to become cute bear hat suit
– Various Types of Fillings Recipes:
1) Peanut Butter Diplomat Cream (with and without dark chocolate) [Demo]
2) Strawberry/Raspberry Compote (Pre-make)
3) Vanilla Whipped Cream
– how to fill and decorate choux pastries with the fillings to form bear and dog

Bonus Recipe: Sable Biscuit (no Demo and Sable Biscuit not provided during workshop)

Each participant will make 6 to 9 Pumpkin choux pastries, 2 to 3 per design

Kindly bring along a container to bring home the choux pastries. [Minimum size: 8″ (L) by 7″ (B) x 3″ (H)]

Bio of Phay Shing Tan

Phay Shing is a sought-after Pastry Instructor who has written three books, Creative Baking: Macarons, Creative Baking: Macaron Basics and Creative Baking: Deco Choux Pastries.

A firm believer in using natural sources of food colouring wherever possible, Phay Shing’s health-conscious baking philosophy has always been to create that delicate balance between aesthetics, healthfulness, richness in flavour and level of sweetness in her bakes. People who have tried her bakes often gives good reviews on the delectable taste, adorable appearance and appreciate her healthier & less sweet bakes.

With a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Phay Shing’s experiments did not end after she left the lab. She continues to conduct experiments of a different kind in her home kitchen, where she bakes creative macarons, cookies, chiffon cakes, choux pastries, breads and steamed buns.

Registration Process

  1. Kindly confirm with Sharon via WhatsApp at +65-9688 2777 if there are still available seats for the workshop before proceeding with the online registration.
  2. Complete the registration online by clicking “Add to Cart”, followed by “View Cart”, then “Proceed to Checkout”. Complete your particulars & add remarks in the section “Order Notes (optional)” eg Workshop Date / Time (if more than 1 option is available), Account Holder Name (if different from the name you registered for the class) and your Friend’s name & hp number if you are signing up for others.
  3. Please make Payment via Paynow / Paylah / Bank Transfer etc. with remarks during transfer your Name (if your account holder name is different from the name you registered for the class), Order number & Class Date.
  4. Important Step: Whatsapp Sharon at +6596882777 with a screenshot of payment receipt & Online Order # and advise participant’s mobile number (if you are making payment on behalf of others).
  5. Once payment & payment receipt has been sent, your booking is confirmed and we will reserve a seat(s) for you.
  6. Two days before the workshop, we will send out reminder WhatsApp messages, address, map, directions & a list of things to take note of to all paid participants.
